Another day… another loss…

So to give you an update, after finding out about the move that the Black Wings made to join Southern Cross. I realized that being tied to low-sec might sound exciting but it’s really just a recipe for frustration at my skill level. Fortunately my old mates welcomed me back with open arms.

Tonight I decided that I would try my hand at some low-sec rats. I’d never really tried to rumble with them in the past and I wanted to see how I fared. I learned quickly that they were no match for me and the fight was quickly won. The problem was the Ishkur that cornered me as I was taking out one of them. I immediately dropped target on the rats and focused on the Ishkur when I saw him begin locking me.

I activated my tank and warp locked him. I wasn’t sure if I could take him but if I could I sure didn’t want him getting away. I got through his shields and began chipping away at his armor and he was beginning to get into mine when he opened comms with me. I was invited to a channel with the typical ransom option. Pay or die… His ransom was 10M ISK, which I should have rebuffed. I just looked and my fit only clocks in at about 8M but I agreed after a bit of banter.

The problem was… he didn’t turn off his guns. I had long since abandoned my tank so I was dropping fast and well into hull. I sent a message telling him I had paid but shortly after I went pop. Man. Do pirates have ANY honor? Turns out they do. No one will pay the ransom of a pirate who has the reputation of popping the ships of people who pay, and I reminded him of this. He said that it was accidental. He shut his guns down but they just kept firing. To prove it he gave me my ISK back.

Sure I lost my ship but I put myself in that situation so I’m the only one to blame for that. Like last time I chatted up with my attacker and after a few minutes of chat I was invited to refit and roam with them. We flew for a couple hours and had a good time. Two kills, neither of which I was a part of unfortunately. One-on-one battles.

It was a good time and at the end I was extended an invitation to join up with their corp. I’m not against the idea. I’ll see what my corp mates think.
